At this point, if you catch your child lying, stay calm and do not take the lies personally. How much ever bizarre it may sound, but if your child is lying, somewhere down the line you have a responsibility here and must take the accountability of it too.

No parent wants their child to be liars, but this happens and happens probably in every family. So before you choose to scream and loathe your little one, look inside yourself and try to fathom what must have gone wrong at your end, that your child is choosing to lie.
Generally, when a child lies there is an underlying reason for that. Either your child finds it funny to lie and keep you on the rolls, or your child is too scared with you to come up with the truth. Either case, it isn’t the right thing to do. So rather than screaming and reprimanding the child, may be as a parent you should try to create a dialogue where your child will know that he can come and tell you anything and everything that is happening with him without even thinking twice.
This will ensure that your child doesn’t resort to lying and will share even the worst experiences with you.
